Behind the Kit
Helen Tufui is a qualified physiotherapist, founder of The Headache Clinic, and a recognised leader in concussion recovery. Her work sits at the intersection of clinical expertise, practical care, and a deep commitment to helping people recover well after head injury. Trusted by elite athletes as well as the wider community, Helen has become known for translating complex concussion care into clear, actionable support that improves both confidence and outcomes.
HIT Kit was born from what Helen saw repeatedly in clinical practice: people struggling to recover well after concussion because they had been given outdated, inconsistent, or incomplete advice. Despite major advances in concussion research over the past 15 years, many injured people are still told to rest and hope it will pass. Despite major advances in concussion research over the past 15 years, too many people are still given outdated advice to simply rest and wait. Helen knew that the early hours after injury matter, and that better information and better support could change the course of recovery.
Drawing on more than 15,000 hours of clinical experience, Helen created HIT Kit to fill that gap. Designed as the world’s first rapid response kit for concussion, it supports people through the first 72 hours after injury, the window when clear decisions, red flag awareness, and the right immediate care are especially important. The kit combines expert-formulated supplementation, step-by-step recovery guidance, a red flag checklist, practical first-aid tools, and access to a dedicated Knowledge Centre, giving families, schools, sports teams, workplaces and communities a clear path forward when it matters most.
At the heart of Helen’s work is a simple belief: better early support leads to better recoveries. HIT Kit reflects her mission to make world-class concussion guidance more accessible, more practical, and more effective, so that after a head knock, people are not left guessing, but supported with confidence from the very start.
